Infrared therapy is low-temperature therapy and unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you to make you sweat, infrared therapy is about the quality of the heaters and their ability to interact with your body on a cellular level and heat you from your core, from the inside out. Traditional saunas raise the temperature of the air to a very high level within the chamber to warm the body. Some people have difficulty breathing in this extremely warm air. Instead of heating the air within the enclosure, infrared saunas heat the body directly. The result is deeper tissue penetration. In an infrared sauna, the body perspires and receives all of the healthy benefits but avoids the harmful and extremely hot and humid air of a traditional steam sauna. This makes for a more comfortable and relaxing session.
**The temperature inside an infrared sauna averages a comfortable 100°F to 145 °F. These lower temperatures allow you to sweat faster and to tolerate a longer sauna session offering greater therapeutic benefit. Typical sessions last 30 to 40 minutes. Infrared saunas leave you feeling invigorated, not depleted like conventional saunas.
If you get too hot or too uncomfortable and need to cool down a bit:
1- open the vent above
2- open the sauna door. When the door opens the full spectrum heaters will stay on and you will still get the infrared benefits.
3- If you are still too hot, step out and sit on the bench. Drink water.
4- End your session early if needed. Always listen to your body!
Be sure to stay hydrated, Drink plenty of water before, during, and after each session. The timer will be set between 30 - 40 minutes. You can end the session at any time if needed. You can also step out to take breaks and drink water as needed.
If you have never used an infrared sauna before, we recommend building your sessions up slowly and listening to your body. You can start with a 20-25 minute session and build up a couple of minutes each appointment until you get to a 30 – 40 minute session. 40 minutes is the recommended maximum time for our professional-grade Full-spectrum infrared saunas. You will get the maximum benefits within this time.
Never turn the temperature gauge down, if you get too hot open the door and allow the cooler air to enter, this way the heaters remain on, and you are still getting the benefits of the infrared wavelengths. If you turn the sauna temperature down, the heaters will turn off once they reach that temp and you are no longer benefiting from the infrared wavelengths. End your session early, if needed. Listen to your body!
Infrared therapy is low-temperature therapy and unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you to make you sweat, infrared therapy is about the quality of the heaters and their ability to interact with your body on a cellular level and heat you from your core, from the inside out. Because of this, the sauna only has to be between 115 to 145 degrees to reach maximum benefits. This makes for a more comfortable relaxing session.
Infrared is electromagnetic radiation in the spectral band between radio waves and visible light. It is invisible to the human eye. Our Saunas are Full-spectrum infrared therapy cabins. The black panels you see inside the sauna are True Wave® far infrared heaters. The silver front heaters are True Wave full spectrum heaters offering near, mid, and far infrared.
Rather than using steam or the traditional heating elements, the infrared sauna heaters use the infrared spectrum listed below to promote relaxation and other wellness benefits. In an infrared sauna, the air temperature is less important than the quality of the infrared heat. You will warm up with the sauna. As your body absorbs the infrared heat, this will increase thermal energy inducing a deep and relaxing sweat. Using your infrared sauna at lower temperatures means you can stay in longer and get more benefits.
Three Wavelengths of the Infrared spectrum
•Near Infrared wavelengths- Shortest wavelength but penetrates the deepest. They are also associated with photo biomodulation which directly produces energy within the cells.
•Mid-Infrared wavelengths- Temporarily increase circulation through vasodilation. Elevating heart rate and overall metabolism.
•Far-Infrared wavelengths- Penetrate to the cellular level to resonate (shake) the cells and release toxins. They also temporarily enhance energy.

Sweating in an infrared sauna offers numerous benefits. It enhances detoxification, promotes radiant skin, boosts immunity, and aids in muscle recovery by increasing blood flow and reducing lactic acid. Infrared saunas are more effective at detoxifying than traditional saunas, eliminating harmful toxins and creating a sterile environment. Studies show that an infrared sauna session can burn up to 600 calories. Increased circulation revitalizes the skin, reduces pores, and stimulates collagen production, reducing wrinkles and improving skin tone. Infrared light also helps kill bacteria and pathogens in infected wounds. It relieves muscle and joint pain, decreases cortisol, and increases serotonin, reducing stress and fatigue. Infrared heat stimulates the circulatory system, oxygenates cells, and enhances overall vitality, similar to a workout but without the physical exertion. It also kills 99% of bacteria, ensuring a clean and rejuvenating experience.
When warmed to the optimal temperature, people typically start sweating after spending 5 to 10 minutes in a sauna. If you don’t sweat during your first session, there’s no need to worry; this is normal for some individuals. With regular use, your body will begin to sweat more efficiently.
Sweating can also vary from session to session, with some resulting in more sweat than others. Several factors may contribute to this variation, one of which is dehydration. If your body is lacking hydration and electrolytes, it can be difficult to produce a substantial amount of sweat.
Another reason you might not sweat is dry skin. If your skin pores are closed due to dryness, sweating effectively becomes impossible. To combat this, consider dry brushing before your shower and remember to moisturize regularly after using the sauna.
Additionally, avoid using moisturizers, lotions, or any cosmetics before entering the sauna. You want as much of your skin as possible to be exposed to the infrared light and heat.

Red light therapy and infrared light therapy are both phototherapy methods that use specific wavelengths of light to promote healing and wellness. Still, they differ in their wavelengths and how they interact with the body.
• Red Light Therapy uses visible red light, typically in the wavelength range of 620-850 nanometers. This light penetrates the skin and reaches the cellular level, specifically targeting the mitochondria—the powerhouse of the cells. By stimulating mitochondrial activity, red light therapy enhances cellular energy production (ATP), which can lead to improved skin health, faster wound healing, reduced inflammation, and other surface-level benefits.
• Infrared Light Therapy (Infrared sauna therapy) typically involves the full spectrum of infrared light, covering near, mid, and far-infrared wavelengths. Near-infrared (700-900 nm) penetrates deeper into the body, reaching muscles, joints, and even bones, while far-infrared (up to 1000 nm) has a more profound impact on the body’s overall temperature, aiding in detoxification and circulation. Full-spectrum infrared therapy is particularly effective for muscle recovery, pain relief, and promoting deep tissue healing.
In summary, red light therapy focuses on cellular and mitochondrial health, making it ideal for surface-level treatments, while infrared light therapy, especially in a full-spectrum sauna, targets deeper tissues and is more suited for comprehensive body healing and detoxification.
Combining the Powers of Red Light and Infrared Therapies, Full-spectrum infrared Light therapy involves using infrared waves to penetrate the body. These waves promote the healthy function of the body’s cells and in turn improve healing, circulation, and detoxification. Infrared heat therapy penetrates nearly 5 centimeters into the skin, making it perfect to use in conjunction with red light therapy which penetrates 5 millimeters. By combining the therapies, you allow multiple levels of your body to heal and rejuvenate.
When pre-booked online or through our booking app, we will pre-heat your sauna for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The sauna cabin should be about 115°F to 120° when you arrive, with temperatures usually ranging from 120°F to 145°F during your 30-40 minute session.

You will enjoy all the relaxation and detoxification benefits of a traditional sauna with the added benefits of infrared light therapy at a much more comfortable temperature. Infrared saunas are also dry saunas, which makes for a more enjoyable and relaxed sauna session.
